National Coordinator for the District Road Improvement Programme, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, has emphasized that, the recruitment process ensures transparency.
In a discussion on Citi fm, Thursday, March 12, 2026, he said that opening security service recruitment to a larger number ensures fairness and equal opportunity for all Ghanaians, even though not everyone will be selected.
"We want to be transparent we want everybody to have an equal playing field, every Ghanaian should have access to the system," he said.
According to him, If the system is going to recruit a person, it would be opened for more than one person will apply, stating that is a principle.
"Even if it is 10 people, it will be opened publicly, unless you want us to use our own desires to go and pick, 10 people, 20 people, then even if we are looking for 10 people, more than 10 people will apply, is a principle we must all understand,"
He stated that, once more than the number of participants apply, there will be disappointment.
"And once more than 10 people will apply it means that more than 10 people will be disappointed, so as for the disappointment is there,"
Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, suggested that, the government open the forms for a number of estimated people, and open up the forms for another batch next time
"The quantum, that has become a problem because we were looking for 5000, so maybe let's say that as soon as we sell 10,000 forms, let's stop it, and go through and then next time we can also open up for another 10,000 forms," he recommended.
