KMA Arrests Four Suspects Over Sale Of illegal Drugs


‎The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), through its Internal Security Task Force, has arrested four individuals suspected of peddling illegal drugs.

‎In a statement, the Assembly indicated that the suspects were apprehended on Monday, March 16, 2026, at a sanitation site behind the Ashtown Post Office.

‎The Assembly, explained that the suspects whose identities have not been disclosed have been handed over to the Kumasi Central Police Station for further investigation.

‎According to KMA, items seized during the operation included substances believed to be Indian hemp, a locally manufactured pistol, packets of cigarettes, various hard drugs, boxes of “Mashallah” (Ataya), cash, and other potentially harmful materials.

‎The Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to upholding law and order and ensuring public safety. 

‎It also encouraged residents to support these efforts by reporting suspicious activities and cooperating with authorities to help maintain security within the metropolis.
