Afadjato South MP Urges Removal Of Police And Security Chiefs Failing To Stop Galamsey


‎The Member of Parliament for Afadjato South, Frank Afriyie, has called for the removal of police commanders and other security heads stationed in areas where illegal mining activities continue unceasing.

‎According to him, the persistent presence of these officials in galamsey-prone communities, despite ongoing illegal activities, raises serious concerns about their effectiveness and accountability.

‎He argued that security leaders who fail to curb illegal mining within their jurisdictions should not remain in office, stressing that enforcing the law is a basic responsibility of their roles.

‎“You have no duty being a police commander if you cannot carry out this basic responsibility of checking those involved in galamsey,” he stated.

‎He commended Otumfour Osei Tutu II for his efforts in dethroning chiefs who fail control illegal mining in their province.
