NSMQ 2025: Ghana’s Biggest Quiz Ever With 174 Schools Set For Battle

The 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) will be the biggest in the history of the competition. A total of 174 schools will take part in this year’s contest.

The contest will be officially launched on October 2. Many students, alumni, and fans are waiting for the start of this exciting event.

Organisers say the number of schools is the highest ever. This makes NSMQ 2025 a special milestone for the academic show.

The 174 schools include 27 seeded schools. These schools got automatic entry because of their strong performances in 2024.

There are also 106 schools that won their regional contests. They fought hard in the qualifiers to earn their place.

Another 32 schools were top runners-up. Even though they did not win their regional contests, they performed well enough to qualify.

Nine private schools have also made it to the national stage. This shows that private schools are also improving in the competition.

A big highlight of NSMQ 2025 is the inclusion of 15 new schools. These debutants are entering the national championship for the very first time.

Some of these new schools include Prampram SHS and Our Lady of Lourdes Girls’ SHS. Others are Ngleshie Amanfro SHS, Attafuah SHTS, and Akro SHTS.

Additional new entrants are Presby SHS Adeiso, Wovenu SHTS, Mankessim SHTS, and Agona SHTS. More debutant schools are also part of this list.

Observers say the entry of these debutants shows the growing competitiveness of the quiz. It also proves that many more schools are rising to the challenge of academic excellence.

All 16 regions of Ghana will be represented in this year’s contest. This makes the competition truly national and inclusive.

The defending champions will come to protect their title. At the same time, new schools will fight to make history.

The championship is expected to be one of the toughest and most exciting editions ever. Fans are already predicting which schools will shine.

The NSMQ has always been the stage for wit, speed, and academic brilliance. Every year it captures the nation’s attention and pride.

Schools, alumni, and supporters celebrate together during the competition. The contest unites people through knowledge and teamwork.

As the 2025 championship launches on October 2, the excitement will grow. Everyone will be eager to see which school wins the ultimate trophy.

The NSMQ remains Ghana’s most prestigious academic contest. This year’s edition will be remembered for its size, energy, and historic participation.
