Giving Back To Women’s Health: Mabel Obeng Supports The Department Of Obstetrics And Gynaecology

Access to quality maternal and reproductive healthcare remains one of the most critical pillars of community wellbeing.

In a heartfelt act of service and advocacy, Mabel Obeng—2nd Runner Up for Miss Health Ghana and Country Director for Young Women of Africa—made a meaningful donation to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Reinforcing her commitment to improving maternal health and supporting healthcare professionals on the frontlines.

A Passion For Women’s Health

Mabel Obeng has consistently used her platform to champion the health and wellbeing of women and girls. Her work focuses on maternal care, menstrual health, and health equity, particularly for underserved communities.

This donation reflects her belief that strong health systems and empowered healthcare workers are essential to reducing maternal and neonatal mortality.

The Donation

The donation included essential medical and support items aimed at improving patient care and easing the workload of healthcare providers within the department.

These items are expected to directly benefit expectant mothers, new mothers, and the dedicated medical staff who care for them daily.

These items include: toiletries, writing materials and chocolates since today is national chocolate day and a valantine day as well.

Speaking during the presentation, Mabel emphasized the importance of collective action in strengthening maternal healthcare:

“Every mother deserves safe, dignified and quality care. Supporting the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department is one step toward ensuring that women receive the care they need during one of the most important moments of their lives.”

Supporting Frontline Healthcare Workers

Departments of Obstetrics and Gynaecology often operate under immense pressure, managing high patient volumes while providing specialized and lifesaving care.

Donations like this help bridge resource gaps and improve the overall patient experience, from prenatal care through delivery and postnatal recovery.

The department expressed gratitude for the thoughtful gesture, highlighting how partnerships with advocates and community leaders play a vital role in strengthening healthcare delivery.

Inspiring Community Action

Beyond the items donated, this initiative sends a powerful message about community responsibility. By leveraging her voice and platform, Mabel continues to inspire individuals, organizations, and young women across Ghana and beyond to contribute to causes that improve lives.

Looking Ahead

This donation is part of a broader vision to promote maternal health, support women, and foster partnerships that drive lasting social impact.

Mabel Obeng remains dedicated to advocating for initiatives that ensure no woman is left behind when it comes to healthcare.

Together, we can create healthier futures for mothers, babies, and communities.
