The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) recently conducted vetting for candidates who want to contest in the upcoming elections. The vetting was organized by the 58th NUGS Administration between 5th and 8th September 2025 at GNAT Hall in Accra.
The exercise was meant to check the competence and readiness of all aspirants. Every candidate was carefully interviewed and assessed by the vetting committee to ensure fairness and transparency.
According to a communique released by the committee, several students aspiring for different national positions were vetted. The process gave each aspirant the opportunity to present their ideas and vision for the union.
The committee, working on behalf of the Electoral Commission of NUGS, officially released the results after the vetting. The results revealed how each aspirant performed and ranked during the process.
Among all the candidates, Mr. Rashid Ibrahim stood out with the highest score. He is contesting for the position of President of NUGS and proved himself to be the most competent during the vetting.
