WAEC Publishes 2025 BECE Results For Private Candidates

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for Private Candidates. The results were made public on Friday, September 5, and are now available online.

Candidates can access their performance by visiting the Council’s official website at www.waecgh.org. To check the results, they must use a valid scratch card or results checker PIN.

This year, a total of 1,661 candidates registered for the private examination across the country. Out of this number, 858 were male and 803 were female, showing a fairly balanced gender participation.

The exams were conducted at 15 centres nationwide, ensuring accessibility for candidates from different regions. However, WAEC confirmed that 31 registered candidates did not turn up for the examination.

In its statement, the Council revealed that the results of three candidates have been withheld. These cases are linked to alleged examination malpractice and are currently under investigation.

WAEC advised the affected candidates to visit the Council’s website for updates. They can check the “withheld/cancelled” section to know the status of their results.

The Council also warned candidates to beware of fraudsters. Some individuals claim they can upgrade results for money, but WAEC stressed that such claims are false and dangerous.

According to WAEC, all results are secure, genuine, and verifiable on the official website. Any attempt to alter results is considered fraud and has serious consequences.

The Council also took the opportunity to thank its partners and stakeholders. These include the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service, examiners, invigilators, supervisors, security services, and heads of schools.

WAEC acknowledged their efforts in ensuring a smooth and fair examination process. Their cooperation was key to maintaining the credibility of the BECE for Private Candidates.

The release of results is an important milestone for the candidates who sat for the exams. It marks the beginning of the next stage in their educational journey.

Students are encouraged to check their results early to plan their next steps. This will help them make informed decisions about further studies and opportunities.

WAEC’s message to candidates was clear and simple. Focus on your genuine results, avoid shortcuts, and trust the examination system.
