Nasty C Names His Top Three Ghanaian Rappers


South African rapper Nasty C has shared a new list of his top Ghanaian artistes. He mentioned that Black Sherif is currently his number one choice.

He praised Black Sherif for his unique style and powerful music. He said the young star’s songs connect deeply with him whenever he listens.

Nasty C also listed Kwesi Arthur as one of his favourites from Ghana. He said Kwesi Arthur deserves the second spot on his list because of his talent and consistency.

The rapper did not end his list there, as he went on to mention Vic Mensa. He explained that Vic Mensa comes third for him and sometimes ties with Shatta Wale in that position.

He made these comments during an interview on Joy Prime’s “Changes” show hosted by Roselyn Felli. He was asked to name his top three Ghanaian rappers, and he responded honestly and openly.

During the interview, Nasty C smiled as he explained his selections. He emphasized that his choices were based on what he currently enjoys listening to.

He noted that Black Sherif’s music has a strong emotional impact on him. He added that the energy in Black Sherif’s songs feels authentic and refreshing.

He said Kwesi Arthur has been consistent in his craft over the years. He added that he appreciates Kwesi Arthur's calm but powerful delivery.

Nasty C explained that Vic Mensa earns a spot on his list because of his versatility. He also praised Shatta Wale for his creativity and influence in the music industry.

The interviewer later asked him why Sarkodie was not included in his top three. He responded calmly and explained that Sarkodie still ranks high in his top five.

He said Sarkodie is a legend in Ghanaian music. He added that his decision was simply based on his current musical taste.

Nasty C explained that top lists can change depending on what he is listening to. He said he respects all Ghanaian artistes and loves their different styles.

He made it clear that he did not remove Sarkodie because of any issues between them. He added that people should not misinterpret his ranking.

Nasty C also used the interview to address rumours about his past ‘beef’ with Sarkodie in 2022. He explained that the situation was caused by a misunderstanding.

He said that many things were taken out of context at the time. He also said he believes someone may have given Sarkodie the wrong impression.

He explained that Sarkodie’s response to his song felt a little harsh. He added that he never intended to disrespect Sarkodie in any way.

Nasty C expressed his desire to settle the matter peacefully. He said he is open to speaking with Sarkodie to clear the air.

He said he values unity in the music industry. He added that disagreements should not block future collaborations.

He also said he respects Sarkodie's legacy and achievements. He added that he hopes their fans understand that the issue was not personal.

Nasty C ended the interview by praising Ghanaian music as a whole. He said Ghana has produced some of the best artistes on the continent.

He added that he enjoys working with Ghanaian musicians. He said he hopes to collaborate with more of them in the future.
